Building on the success of last year’s fair, Asiamold 2009, the next Guangzhou International Trade Fair for Moldmaking and Tooling, Design and Application Development, has so far attracted more than 200 committed exhibitors from seven countries besides China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. The event takes place September 16–18.
Exhibitors from Germany, Israel, Italy, Korea, Russia, Singapore, and the United States have signed up to participate in the third edition of Asiamold, which will be presented in the Poly World Trade Centre Expo in Guangzhou. Of the exhibitors that will be showcasing their latest innovations in southern China, many will be part of the special pavilions being mounted by Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Singapore, Taiwan, and Taizhou. In addition, the EuroMold pavilion will feature exhibitors from the Frankfurt exhibition organized by DEMAT GmbH.
DEMAT is cooperating with Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt, the chief organizer, and the Hong Kong Mould & Die Council (HKMDC) in staging Asiamold 2009.
Seeking to create new opportunities for Hong Kong’s small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), the HKMDC secured a subsidy of more than HK$1 million (about €100,000) from the SME Development Fund set up by the territory’s governmental trade and industry department to use in mounting a Hong Kong pavilion at this year’s Asiamold. The purpose of the 1,000-m² pavilion is to promote the image of the territory’s mould and die industry and enhance the competitiveness of SMEs. SMEs interested in participating in the pavilion are invited to apply to the HKMDC for booth assistance.
A related feature of Asiamold 2009 will be a metal manufacturing pavilion put together by the Hong Kong Metals Manufacturing Association in recognition of the market potential of China’s mould and die industry.
